Poverty is as ancient as human history; Teen Pregnancy is one of the factors that directly contribute towards this. However, in the recent years, poverty has become evident and profiled. The influx from villages to urban areas has catalyzed rapid mushrooming of slums with countless challenges including food, shelter, health, education, environment, security etc.
Our Primary work within our community covers four thematic areas with focus to Teen Pregnancies and Health. These areas are; Emergency, Education, Environment and Economy.

We believe that our people need donations due to emergencies, but that must be followed by education that respects the integrity of the environment for a sustainable economy.
While not discrediting relief efforts which are important First Aid to emergencies, our model paints that relief should a stepping stone towards a permanent solution. We hold that relief should be followed closely by equipping in readiness for the next misadventure. Since most emergencies revolve around food security, people must explore better ways of sustaining the environment for a prosperous economy.

ONE; EMERGENCY,
Emergencies; our county has been ravaged by HIV pandemic leaving behind countless widows and poor households whose livelihood perpetually relies on emergency relief. There is a general disparity and dearth of resource including food, shelter, education and health. As a community based initiative trying to work on predictable developmental paths towards solving shared problems, we are often swayed off course and compelled to network with other stake holders to effect immediate first aid responses to sporadic problems occasioned either by floods, drought, inflation or lack of supply.

FOOD
Food is a Human Right. However, the ever escalating cost of life has hindered many families from accessing healthy diet giving rise to diverse health implications. It is not only necessary to access food, that food must be equally balances, well processed, transported and sold in a healthy environment.
The body needs carbohydrates for energy, proteins for building and vitamins. Today, we live in a community ravaged by myriad forms of health complication traversing the gap between malnutrition and starvation. Many families are in need of food aid and diet supplements for healthy living, both in the slums and in the outlying villages. It has therefore become necessary to develop emergency measures in collaboration with other partners to alleviate the situation.
However, these short term measures do not proffer the necessary long term solution to hunger and starvation. The is an urgent need to address the driver and factors involved including land rights, alternatives of irrigation farming, access to tools and seeds, access to micro-finances as well as marketing intelligence for the output

HOUSING
Shelter is a human Right, but it is not universally implemented. Street families and children represent a rapidly growing socio-educational challenge affecting both the developing and industrialized nations of the world. Children are at risk for physical, emotional, social, and cognitive violation. These street families and children are in need of interventions that appropriately address their needs in the context of their environment, and build upon the positive survival skills that they have developed as a result of street life. On the other hand shelter is expensive and many factors are involved in providing sustainable housing solutions for the homeless. That is why our relief targets the homeless with our donations of food, cloths, medicine, building materials etc in the hope that other players involved in the shelter rights will be doing something in due course.

TWO: EDUCATION
Education is a Human Right. The vision to make primary literacy both universal and inalienable fundamental human right in Kenya is one of the greatest milestones in the fight against innumerable injustices which could adequately be prevented though sound education. However, the shortages of classrooms, schools books and other related materials as well as the shortage of teachers have halted the wheel of progress in this area. We are working particularly in that area trying to get resources to support educational activities at all levels.
Educated people are apt to make informed choices and be effective leaders in their lives and equally play roles in the wider community. In the absence of education or basic literacy, communities are not properly or strategically poised to tackle most of the challenges of the dynamic society and particularly those that are skill intensive. We have therefore put forth training programs that equip women and girls in the community in areas of vocational training.
THREE: ENVIRONMENTAL
Environmental; we have strong faith in the environment since it provides everything that living things need for their sustenance. We are collectively working towards sustainable environmental conditions both for human and animals. An environment with clean and safe air, water and productive soil free form pollution of chemicals, plastics or deforestation is ideal for livelihood to both humans and animals.

FOUR: ECONOMICAL
Kisumu County is neither immune nor divorced from the common problem that is universally faced by all urban towns in the developing economies around the world; poverty. LTTM is implementing an economic empowerment to equip Teenage mothers and other school dropout girls to be productive members of the community.
